Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, December 17th, 2025

The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) has released its Targeted Support & Improvement (TSI)
updates, and Bibb County schools are demonstrating clear, measurable progress across multiple campuses. Most notably, Howard High School has successfully exited TSI status, reflecting sustained improvement and the effectiveness of focused leadership, instructional alignment, and strategic support.

In a powerful affirmation of the district’s improvement efforts, six elementary schools — Bernd, Bruce, Ingram-Pye, Southfield, Union, and Williams — were formally recognized by the GaDOE for making significant progress on their school improvement plans and College & Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) component scores. This recognition highlights strong instructional practices, intentional leadership, and growing academic outcomes for students. The Office of School Leadership & Supports continues to strengthen instructional quality and coherence across our schools, contributing to recent gains on the Georgia Milestones,” said Dr. Tamara Candis, Associate Superintendent of Schools. “Through targeted leadership coaching and high-leverage practices — including instructional rounds, professional learning communities, and data-driven decision-making — principals and school teams are delivering measurable results for students. These outcomes affirm what is possible when systems are aligned, expectations are clear, and leaders execute with purpose.”

The district remains committed to continuous improvement for every school. McKibben Lane Elementary was identified for targeted support related to progress for students with disabilities while continuing to show gains in other CCRPI components and will receive differentiated support to ensure equitable outcomes for all learners. CCRPI highlights for each school are available on the District’s website at www.bcsdk12.net/about-us/ccrpi-highlights

Targeted Support & Improvement (TSI) is identified annually, while Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) occur on a three- yearcycle. Each year, GaDOE also recognizes schools demonstrating documented progress—affirming Bibb County School District’s positive trajectory, focused leadership, and unwavering commitment to student success.
