Wednesday, December 10th, 2025

Cox Communications marked a major milestone in its commitment to bring next-generation connectivity to rural communities with a visit to one of the first Cox fiber customers in Twiggs County, Renee Stanley. The visit celebrated Cox’s recent expansion into the area and included a special gift presentation of an iPad, Apple Air Pods and more, as a token of appreciation to Stanley.

This achievement underscores Cox’s dedication to bridging the digital divide=by delivering reliable, high-speed internet to unserved and underserved communities. The expansion into Twiggs County is part of Cox’s broader initiative to invest in fiber infrastructure and empower residents with the tools they need to thrive in today’s connected world.

“Having internet is a game-changer for us,” said Stanley. “It gives us the access we need to the world. We’re thrilled Cox chose to invest in our community.”

Cox’s fiber expansion into Twiggs County, which will connect more than 2,800 homes, was funded in part by a $8.135 million grant from the State of Georgia’s Capital Projects Fund. The project will provide residents with access to gig-speed internet, advanced TV options, and phone services, ensuring they stay connected to what matters most. The anticipated timeline for completion of the project is end of 2025.

“We’re excited to bring fiber technology to Twiggs County,” said Caryn Frey, Cox Middle Georgia market vice president. “Expanding into this community means more families and businesses can access the fast, reliable internet they deserve. We’re excited to be part of Twiggs County’s future.”
