GSC Theatre Welcomes the Community to Experience Narnia on Stage
Tuesday, November 18th, 2025
Gordon State College Theatre will bring the magical world of Narnia to the stage with its upcoming production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the classic novel by C.S. Lewis. Performances will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20–22 in the Fine Arts Theatre, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Audiences will join siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie as they step through the wardrobe and into Narnia, a land held under the White Witch’s icy rule. Guided by the great lion Aslan, the children encounter mythical creatures, take part in decisive battles and discover the lasting themes of courage, sacrifice and friendship that define this story.
GSC Theatre professor Tony Pearson, who leads design and technology, said the production offers a vivid and engaging experience for the community.
“We hope audiences feel the magic as soon as they step into the theater and enjoy the creativity and hard work of our director, our student and community actors, and the entire production team,” Pearson said. “We’re grateful to welcome you into the Fine Arts Auditorium and share this story with you.”
This adaptation features well-known characters including Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, Tumnus the Faun, Father Christmas and an ensemble of creatures who help shape the Pevensies’ journey toward Narnia’s restoration.
Guests attending the Sunday, Nov. 23 matinee can also enjoy a Community Brunch from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Dining Hall for $10.94 per person.
An adapted version of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” will be featured in the spring theatre production, scheduled for April 9–12, 2026.
Tickets are available now by scanning the QR code on promotional materials or by visiting the GSC Theatre webpage at gordonstate.edu.
The 2025-26 season is made possible in part through a grant from Upson EMC in Thomaston, Georgia and GSC Board of Trustees member, Dan White, with the endowed Constance H. Chinery Fine and Performing Arts Support Fund.
