"Inheritance of the Unstable Self"
Macon Arts Alliance is happy to present their November exhibit, “Inheritance of the Unstable Self”, with works by Jason John of the University of North Florida. “Inheritance of the Unstable Self” explores the concepts of instability of identity and the relationship between figure and surroundings. Through this exhibit, identity is experienced as mutable, layered, and unsettled, forever in the
process of becoming.

Our Country's Good is a 1988 play written by British playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker, adapted from the Thomas Keneally novel The Playmaker. The story concerns a group of Royal Marines and convicts in a penal colony in New South Wales, in the 1780s, who put on a production of The Recruiting Officer.

Wesleyan College invites you to join a community program that provides an exciting range of educational and social opportunities to mature learners in central Georgia. The Wesleyan Academy of Lifelong Learning (WALL) offers a wide variety of courses designed to expose you to new ideas and activities in a relaxed and congenial setting, without concern for tests, grades or requirements, other than participation. Courses are of a short duration, usually four weeks, and are staggered throughout the academic year.
The sessions are taught by Wesleyan College faculty as well as experts from the community at large. Membership in the Academy allows you an opportunity to share your ideas and life experiences with like-minded people while exposing yourself to new ideas and interesting, sometimes controversial topics. Regardless of prior educational experience, this program has something for everyone; all you need is curiosity and a willingness to learn. The Academy serves Wesleyan's commitment to lifelong learning by connecting the resources of the College with the diverse needs of our community.

Storytellers Macon Presents: Defying Gravity
Socials start at 6:00 pm | Stories start at 7:00 pm
Sometimes, life asks us to rise—even when the world would rather we stay grounded. Defying Gravity is about the moments we've lifted ourselves (or others) above the weight of expectation, fear, or circumstance. It's about pushing past limits, challenging the rules, and daring to believe we can soar higher than anyone thought possible.
Whether you've stood up for what you believe in, broken free from something that held you down, or simply refused to apologize for being you, this night is for the rebels, the dreamers, and the change-makers.
Featuring Julie Callahan with Middle Georgia 4 Choice, we'll celebrate stories of courage, conviction, and the quiet strength it takes to rise when it's easier to fall. Because sometimes, when you take that leap of faith, you find out you were never really falling at all—you were flying.
Featured Teller: Julie Callahan
As always, audience members will also have the chance to share their own 5-minute true stories on the theme. Stories are uncensored and authentic—except for hate speech, which is not permitted.
Join us every 2nd Tuesday of the month at Historic Grant's Lounge!
Presented by Storytellers Macon at Grant's Lounge
576 Poplar St, Macon, GA 31201
