New $2 Million Fire and EMA Warehouse Breaks Ground in Houston County

Construction is underway on a new $2 million fire and emergency management warehouse that county officials say will improve disaster response and safety readiness in Houston County.
County commissioners approved the project in August, and crews have begun work on the 15,000-square-foot facility behind the Fire and EMA headquarters off Lake Joy Road. The warehouse will store essential emergency items including tarps, first aid kits, ready-to-eat meals, bedding, and fire equipment.
