Friday, October 17th, 2025
Bragg Jam is thrilled to announce the return of the popular Bragg Jamuary event for 2026, in which a battle of the bands competition will determine the opening act at the mainstage Capitol Theatrefor the 2026 Bragg Jam Concert Crawl. This year’s competition will exclusively feature college bands across the region, with the head-to-head battle taking place in January 2026 at JBA in Downtown Macon. In addition to the opening slot at the Capitol Theatre, the winning act will receive a performance stipend of $1,500. Submissions are free, and are now open through November 15, 2025.
“Bragg Jamuary was just finding its groove when the world hit pause in 2020,” said Olivia Walter, Bragg Jam President “Now, we’re bringing it back stronger, giving college musicians a stage in Macon, a city built on music, to share their sound and their story. It’s incredible to see how much talent is coming out of college music scenes across the region. Bragg Jamuary will give these young musicians a real stage, a real audience, and a real shot, I’m excited to watch them grow from this moment to the Bragg Jam main stage.”
The competition is open to musical acts of any genre that are primarily made up of college students and play original music. Bands from all over the region are encouraged to apply, but Bragg Jam cannot provide travel assistance. Selections for the Bragg Jamuary competition will be made at the discretion of the Bragg Jam board.
