Macon Area Habitat for Humanity Celebrates Homeownership During Habitat Week 2025
Tuesday, October 7th, 2025
Macon Area Habitat for Humanity will host Habitat Week 2025 through a series of events from October 6-12, 2025. For almost 40 years, MAHFH has partnered with families to create access to safe, decent, and affordable housing in Macon-Bibb and Jones Counties, and now Milledgeville-Baldwin County. With the support of local volunteers, donors and partners, MAHFH has served almost 150 families and helped them achieve the dream of homeownership.
“We invite everyone to join in celebrations around the world and reflect on the positive impact of homeownership on families, neighborhoods, and the entire community,” said Ivey Hall, Executive Director of Macon Area Habitat for Humanity. “There are many ways for the local community to join our celebration this week and support local Habitat families as we work to fulfill our vision that everyone deserves a place to call home.”
Media are encouraged to join us during the following events:
Home Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. at 1975 Feb Ave
Home Court tournament on October 10-12 at Rhythm & Rally
Monday, October 6 – World Habitat Day
The United Nations established World Habitat Day in 1985 to spotlight the need for adequate shelter worldwide. Every year Habitat for Humanity joins our partners around the world to rededicate ourselves to recognizing the fundamental right to adequate shelter. Habitat for Humanity asks everyone to join together as one global network in communicating that every one of us deserves the opportunity for a better future. A decent place to live can remove barriers to opportunity, health, and success that might have been part of a family’s life for years and, in many cases, for generations.
Tuesday, October 7 – Rotary Home Dedication
Macon Area Habitat for Humanity invites you to join us for a home dedication on October 7 at 1:00 PM at 1975 Feb Avenue. This home was built in memory of Josh Rogers, whose visionary leadership through NewTown Macon helped shape the city's future. The project was launched with support from the Rotary Clubs of Macon as a tribute to Josh's enduring impact in the community. More than just a home, "Josh's House" represents a shared commitment to building a stronger, more connected Macon through stable, affordable housing. Join us as we celebrate our newest homeowner, the completion of “Josh House”, all of the volunteers, and sponsors that made it possible. Due to limited parking on Feb Avenue, please park at the church on Holt Ave, 1st Thessalonians Church of God In Christ in Macon, which is directly across from Feb Ave. and a short walk to our site.
Wednesday, October 8 – House that Bagels Built Day
Macon Area Habitat for Humanity is partnering with Macon Bagels for the 3rd annual fundraising event. On this day only, 20% of proceeds from Macon Bagels go to our endowment fund.
