HCA's Fairview Park Hospital Holds Eighth Annual Movie On The Lawn

Fairview Park Hospital recently held its annual Movie On the Lawn event, a community-minded fall festival that brings families together on the front lawn of the hospital for games, activities, crafts, and health education. This year marks the event’s eighth year welcoming hundreds of visitors to Fairview’s campus, and it was a continued success with over fifteen hospital booths, community partners, and food vendors joining together to offer a no cost event for families in Dublin-Laurens County and the surrounding communities.
“Movie On the Lawn is an event we look forward to each year”, commented Liz Green, Director of Marketing at Fairview Park Hospital. “There is something special about being able to offer a family-friendly event that costs nothing for the community to participate in. Our goal is to give each child and each family an opportunity to enjoy a festival event while also offering access to health education they may not have access to otherwise. We are very grateful for our community and hospital departments for joining us on this mission and giving time to help us make it happen on one of the busiest Saturdays in October.”
In addition to fall festival games and activities, each year the hospital shows a popular movie at dark. This year, families watched “The Wild Robot”, a movie with an uplifting message of kindness and welcoming people who may not look or act like you into your circle. It was a great success with over two hundred people in attendance for the viewing of the movie.
“With this being my first week on the job as Volunteer & Community Relations Coordinator at Fairview, this event has been really fun and fulfilling”, stated Courtney Herrin, Fairview’s newest team member. “Giving back to the community is a big part of my job, but outside of it being a job duty, it is a great personal honor to be able to offer this to those around us. Dublin-Laurens County is such a special place, and it is so exciting to be a part of a mission that is so meaningful.”
