Halloween Comes Alive at Goodwill: Affordable Costumes with a Mission

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, October 2nd, 2025

Costumes don’t have to break the bank — or look like everyone else’s. This Halloween, Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA is the go-to destination for shoppers who want to save money, unleash creativity, and support helping people find employment in their community at the same time.

When shoppers choose Goodwill over costly pop-up stores, they’re not just getting a deal — they’re making a difference. Eighty-six cents of every dollar spent at Goodwill goes directly into mission programs, funding free career services, skills training, and education programs for neighbors in need. In 2024, nearly 10,000 people throughout Middle GA & the CSRA received help through Goodwill’s education and employment programs.

“With unemployment climbing, families need affordable options and people in our communities need pathways to opportunity,” said Jennifer Tyner, Vice President of Marketing and Development. “When you shop at Goodwill this Halloween, your purchase does both. You’ll save money, and you’ll help someone else find a job.”

And the savings are real. While national pop-up stores charge $60–$80 for off-the-rack costumes, most Goodwill costumes cost under $20 — and they’re one-of-a-kind. Thousands of new and gently used items make it easy to build a unique look without breaking the budget.

New this year, every Goodwill store also features Costume Designers! Team members in purple t-shirts ready to help customers mix, match, and create their perfect Halloween look. Shoppers can also browse the in-store Halloween Lookbook for inspiration, from superheroes and witches to the latest pop culture icons.

Why Shop Goodwill This Halloween?

  • Save Money – Costumes under $20 vs. $60+ at pop-ups.
  • Be Creative – Thousands of pieces for unique DIY looks.
  • Do Good – Every purchase funds education and career services for local families.
