Georgia CASA Announces New & Returning Board Members

Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), the state organization that supports and promotes volunteer advocates for children in foster care, announces new and returning board members for the new fiscal year. In addition to governance, board members serve on committees relating to finance, allocation, development, marketing, long-range planning, personnel, events, and programming.
Starting a three-year term this summer, new board members include Alecea Quintyne, a nonprofit board consultant, and Judge Jan Wheeler, a retired juvenile court judge from the Appalachian Judicial Circuit.
“I began my CASA journey at the local level serving with DeKalb CASA,” said Alecea Quintyne, “Where I witnessed the profound difference advocacy makes in the lives of children. It is an honor to now extend that service at the state level as a member of the Georgia CASA Board of Directors. I look forward to collaborating with fellow board members to strengthen and expand CASA’s impact across the state.”
Continuing in the second year of their executive board roles are Board Chair Kim Harrington, Vice Chair Wendy Cobb, and Secretary Marvin Vaughn. Elena Chang begins her two-year term as Treasurer.
Additionally, Jennifer Alewine, Judge Anne Barnes, Laura Brown, Keagan Clark, Sandy Day, Lindsay Dycus, Michael Eads, Marie Hannon, Daniel Hathaway, Katherine Herndon, Bill Holbert, Jane Hale Hopkins, Lauren Hyatt, Dr. Kip Lynch, Ericka McClam, Jessica Merriman, Don Miller, Louise Moore, Julia Neighbors, Wendy Polson, Carlene Redmond, Ann Rotroff, Dianne Scoggins, Jeff Sprinkle, Marcie Smith, Heather Steen, Rod Walker, Becky Wallis, and Danielle Wilkes return as dedicated board members, serving on various committees.
Finally, Honorary Member Duaine Hathaway and Life Members John P. Adams, Michelle Barclay, Ann Barrett, Ethel Ware Carter, Bernadette Hartfield, Roya Irvani, Kellyn O. McGee, Jack McMillan, Marcy McTier, Donna Shapiro, Nicki N. Vaughan, and Nancy Wood continue in their unwavering dedication to the mission of Georgia CASA.
