Push, Pull, Play, Paint: A Mixed Media Florals Workshop
This 3-day painting workshop will introduce you to painting abstract florals with acrylics, oil, and mixed media. You’ll study composition and design to create wonderfully loose and painterly art collages with the media of your choice.
The goals of this workshop are to introduce you to a new way of thinking and to challenge your own pre-conceived notions regarding art and its creation. Artist/instructor Madeline Dukes will share and demonstrate exploratory tools and practices that open the doors to creating dynamic and unique artwork with mixed media.
Dukes will lead you through the importance of design elements and principles, the most common compositions used in abstraction, and the intention setting phase for the day’s paintings. She will also introduce you to great “loosening up” exercises to prepare you for painting a three-panel abstract floral series during the workshop.

The fee is $400 for non-members, or $325 for members of The 567, and includes 3 days of instruction. Students are expected to bring their own paints, brushes and other supplies–a supply list will be provided.
