Central Georgia Cancer Care (CGCC), a partner practice of American Oncology Network (AON) (Nasdaq: AONC) and the only oncology practice in the state with both QOPI® and ASCO accolades, is proud to welcome Kaitlyn Thompson, MSN, AGACNP-BC, to its growing team of providers. Thompson will support patients across CGCC’s Macon and Warner Robins clinics, furthering the practice’s mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality, and innovative cancer care close to home.
Thompson earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Middle Georgia State University, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wesleyan College, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Mercer University. She is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Her professional experience spans oncology, hematology, critical care, and advanced pulmonary medicine. Most recently, she practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in critical care and the Advanced Lung Clinic at Atrium Health Navicent, providing advanced care for critically ill patients and those with complex pulmonary conditions. She also brings extensive bedside experience from her years as an ICU and emergency nurse at Atrium Health Navicent, Coliseum Medical Center, and Houston Healthcare.
Since July 2025, Thompson has been serving as a Nurse Practitioner with CGCC, where she provides comprehensive hematology and oncology care. Her responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and symptom management, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to tailor individualized care plans for patients undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and clinical trials.
“I love working in oncology because it allows me to build meaningful connections with patients and walk alongside them during some of their most vulnerable moments,” says Thompson. “Their strength and resilience inspire me every day, and it’s a privilege to care for them with both compassion and purpose.”
CGCC is excited to welcome Thompson to its dedicated team of providers. For more information, visit www.centralgacancercare.com.
