Wednesday, September 10th, 2025

Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center recently attained its fifth Magnet recognition, a

testament to the hospital’s continued dedication to high-quality nursing practice. The American Nurses Credentialing

Center’s Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes health care organizations that meet rigorous standards for nursing

excellence. This credential is the highest honor and gold standard for professional nursing practice and excellence.

Receiving Magnet recognition is a great achievement for Atrium Health Navicent as it proudly belongs to the global

community of Magnet-recognized organizations. Just 13 Georgia hospitals have achieved Magnet recognition, with three

— including Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center — achieving five or more consecutive designations.

“Magnet recognition is a tremendous honor and reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to this

community,” said Atrium Health Navicent Chief Nurse Executive Tracey Blalock. “Our achievement of this credential

underscores the foundation of excellence and values that drive our teammates to strive harder each day to meet the

health care needs of the people we serve.”

Research demonstrates that Magnet recognition provides specific benefits to health care organizations and their

communities, such as:

• Higher patient satisfaction with nurse communication, availability of help and receipt of discharge information.

• Lower risk of 30-day mortality and lower failure to rescue rates.

• Higher job satisfaction among nurses.

• Lower nurse reports of intentions to leave their positions.

Atrium Health Navicent nurses engage in knowledge sharing, empowerment, career growth and autonomy in their

professional practice immersed in a culture that supports education and development of nurses.

“This Magnet recognition is a reflection of our nurses’ daily commitment to providing our community with high-quality

health care,” said Atrium Health Georgia Market President Delvecchio Finley. “In many ways, nurses are the frontline

health care workers whose caring nature, compassion and dedication to healing can make a huge difference in both

patient experience and outcomes. Congratulations to our nurses on this much-deserved recognition!”

Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin and Atrium Health Navicent Peach were recognized with the American Nurses

Credentialing Center’s Pathway to Excellence Program designation in 2024.
