Thursday, August 21st, 2025

The Titans of Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) are set to begin their 2025 season on the road against conference rival Georgia Military College (GMC) on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 1 p.m.

Coming off a strong 2024 season with a 10-1 overall record, the Titans will look to avenge their only loss from their inaugural season—a 65-0 defeat at the hands of GMC, who finished ranked No. 3 in the NJCAA postseason poll.

The 2024 season was considered a success for the Titans, with breakout performances and increasing regional recognition. Now in their second full season, the Titans are ready to make a bold statement with a roster of experienced sophomores and standout freshmen. Head Coach Kato Hitson believes this combination is the recipe for competitive football.

"We have high expectations and a vision for continued growth," Hitson said. "We have built a standard that new and returning players must live up to. It's a brand of football that all of Central Georgia can be proud of."

In their first season of NJCAA Division-1 competition, the Titans finished second in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Conference (GCAA). In the final 2024 NJCAA polls, they ranked No. 10 with a total points-per-game of 35.2 and No. 32 in total offense with 266.9 yards per game. The team will look to improve its passing game, which ranked 32nd among 41 NJCAA teams, while building on the consistency of its rushing game, which finished 22nd overall. Defensively, the Titans were a dominant force, allowing only 85.2 yards per game.

The college is inviting the Titan Family to travel to Milledgeville on Saturday to support the team. Davenport Field at GMC is located at E Franklin and S Elbert Streets.
