Abraham Butler, M.D., and Nisarg Patel, M.D., have joined Piedmont Primary Care at Charter Boulevard in Macon as new providers. They join Dr. Syed Rizvi at the clinic, which opened earlier this year on the fourth floor of the Medical Office Building at Piedmont Macon North Hospital.

Dr. Butler is a board-certified Family Medicine physician caring for adolescents and adults. He earned his M.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Ballad Health Hospitals. His clinical focus includes weight and metabolic health, diabetes, thyroid and other endocrine care, arthritis and musculoskeletal injuries, allergy/asthma, skins conditions, high blood pressure, cholesterol and comprehensive preventive care. His special interests include obesity care, joint health, allergy management and preventive care.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and completed his residency at Houston Healthcare in Warner Robins. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Patel treats various conditions such as heart failure, COPD/asthma, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and other musculoskeletal pathologies. His special interests include preventive care, joint injections (knee, shoulder, carpal tunnel, etc.), skin biopsy for suspicious lesions, complex diagnostic evaluation and the investigation of conditions with unclear etiology.
