“This is a vital tool that helps us better understand how early adversity impacts long-term outcomes for children, families, and neighborhoods right here in our own backyard,” said MMHM Director Andrea Cooke. “This study is more than just data. It’s a call to action. It’s a reflection of what our community has endured and a roadmap for how we can begin to heal.”
More than 120 people in 25 different zip codes completed the survey. They answered ten questions anonymously and at the of the survey were given a score. High number scores indicate a greater number of adverse experiences. When the person received their scores at the end of the survey, they were given suggestions for mental health support based on their score.
“This is a good snapshot of what people in our community have experienced and gives us a better understanding on how we can help and which areas we need to focus on,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “I am so proud of what MMHM has done and will continue to do for our community.”
In 2024, MMHM served 608 unique individuals, providing invaluable support to diverse populations.
