Two North Macon Bridges To Close In 2026, Parents Fear Longer School Commutes

Two bridges in North Macon will close in early 2026 as part of a Georgia Department of Transportation project to replace the aging infrastructure, and some parents worry how it will affect their commute to school.
The Rocky Creek Bridge and Tucker Road Bridge are located within ten minutes of both Stratford Academy and First Presbyterian Day School, both of which serve Pre-K to high school aged children.
