Gordon State College and Atrium Health Navicent have launched a new partnership to expand access to health care for students with the opening of an on-campus health clinic. The collaboration was celebrated on Monday, Aug. 4 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the clinic, located in Gordon Commons C on the east side of College Drive.

Through this partnership, GSC students can receive medical services at no out-of-pocket cost. The clinic also serves faculty and staff.

“Prioritizing health is an important part of supporting student success. The new on-campus health clinic offers significant benefits to our college community,” said Dr. Donald J. Green, GSC president. “Conveniently located on campus, the clinic provides accessible and confidential health care services for students. Atrium Health Navicent staff will also help coordinate off-site care when needed. This partnership ensures Highlanders have access to high-quality medical services, supporting their overall well-being and helping them stay focused on their academic and professional goals."

The clinic offers a range of basic services, including assessment and treatment of common illnesses and injuries; testing for flu, strep, COVID-19, and pregnancy; sexual health education; chronic condition monitoring and education; and health and wellness coaching. Patients can also access on-campus virtual health care services and receive referrals to off-site care or other campus services as needed.

“Atrium Health Navicent is thankful for this opportunity to partner with [GSC] to help ensure students, faculty and staff have easy access to quality health care services without leaving campus,” said Atrium Health Georgia Market President Delvecchio Finley. “In addition to increasing access to health care services while students are enrolled, we’re proud to provide them with an electronic health record that they can take with them when they graduate, so they can share medical test results and other records to set them on a healthy start as they embark on the next step in their life’s journey.”

The clinic is open Mondays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closing from noon to 1 p.m. Services are available by walk-in or appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 678-359-5476.

On-campus health services provided by Atrium Health Navicent are also available at Clayton State University, Fort Valley State University, and multiple Central Georgia Technical College campuses. Atrium Health Navicent is part of Advocate Health, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and operates on-campus health care services for five other colleges and universities.
