Bass Road Bridge Set To Reopen Saturday; Bibb County Eyes Next Steps For Road Widening Project

After more than half a year of detours and delays, the Bass Road bridge in North Macon is finally set to reopen Saturday morning, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The $11 million project began in February and included widening the bridge by 17 feet and adding new guardrails to improve safety and traffic flow. For many area residents, the reopening can’t come soon enough.
