Washington County Regional Medical Center (WCRMC) proudly announces that CEO Pam Stewart has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the “2025 Women Hospital and Health System Presidents and CEOs to Know.” This prestigious recognition celebrates the profound impact women leaders are making in healthcare across the nation.

A second-generation hospital employee, Pam began her career at WCRMC in 1992. After holding various roles within the organization, she expanded her leadership experience by joining The Joint Commission. In 2023, she returned to the medical center wielding national insights and a deep commitment to revitalizing her hometown facility. Since her return, she has led the hospital’s turnaround efforts by breaking ground on a new emergency department, expanding access through specialty providers, and modernizing equipment—including the installation of a new MRI machine. Her leadership has also prioritized rebuilding internal culture and staff morale.

Ms. Stewart, a lifelong advocate for rural healthcare, is a brain cancer survivor. She founded the Pam Stewart Cancer Foundation to support individuals battling glioblastoma. Her personal resilience and professional dedication continue to shape a bold new era for WCRMC, one rooted in excellence, compassion, and community impact.
