OrthoGeorgia is proud to announce that a team of our dedicated healthcare professionals traveled to Honduras this weekend to participate in a surgical mission trip in partnership with One World Surgery and Walk South. This compassionate initiative provides 35 knee replacement surgeries to individuals in need—patients who would otherwise not have access to this level of specialized orthopedic care.

Our mission team generously volunteering their time and expertise includes:

  • Tanya Bickham, RN

  • Maddy Bishop, Scrub Tech

  • Brandon Cantrell, PA-C

  • Tracy Hardy, RN

  • Karen Higgins, RN

  • Dr. Wood Pope

  • Candice Wilson, PT, MPT, Cert DN

  • Dr. Kim Carpenter

These incredible professionals joined Dr. Stephen Smith’s team from Peachtree Orthopedic Clinc and Dr. Mark Hanna’s team from Resurgeons to carry out a tightly coordinated schedule, which includes:

  • Saturday – Arrival and orientation

  • Sunday – Clinic setup and patient evaluations

  • Monday–Wednesday – 35 Total knee replacement surgeries

This trip is more than a clinical mission—it is an extension of OrthoGeorgia’s commitment to compassionate care and restoring mobility, independence, and quality of life for patients near and far.

“At OrthoGeorgia, our mission has always been to serve others through excellence in orthopedic care. We are humbled and inspired by our team’s willingness to take that mission across borders and make a global impact,” said Bill Lindsey, OrthoGeorgia CEO.
