Middle Georgia State University (MGA) and the College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) have signed a new articulation agreement that guarantees qualified CCGA undergraduates streamlined admission into MGA’s fully online Master of Science in Information Technology program.
The agreement, effective July 1, 2025, reflects the University System of Georgia’s commitment to collaboration across institutions to meet critical workforce demands in high-impact fields.
Under the agreement, CCGA students who meet eligibility requirements will be guaranteed admission into MGA’s MSIT program, which offers concentrations in cybersecurity, software development, data analytics, health informatics, homeland security and social media. MGA will also waive the application fee for CCGA applicants.
“Partnerships like these are what make the University System of Georgia special,” said Johnny L. Evans Jr., Ph.D., president of the College of Coastal Georgia. “We are working together, across institutions, to meet the cybersecurity needs of the industry, the state and the nation. The College of Coastal Georgia and Middle Georgia State University are impacting Georgia as we prepare world-class talent in cyber defense and cybersecurity. Together, we will continue to strengthen the preparation pipeline for a nation ready to face future threats.”
“This agreement exemplifies our commitment to creating opportunity and access for students across Georgia,” said Christopher Blake, Ph.D., president of Middle Georgia State University. “By working collaboratively with CCGA, we’re helping prepare the next generation of tech leaders who will drive innovation and security in an increasingly digital world.”
The MSIT degree at MGA, housed in the School of Computing, is fully online and can be completed in as little as one year.
“The MSIT program at MGA stands as a beacon for aspiring tech leaders,” said Alex Koohang, Ph.D., dean of the School of Computing. “It offers a comprehensive and flexible curriculum that directly addresses the evolving demands of the digital age. For incoming students from CCGA, this program offers an unparalleled opportunity to build on their foundational knowledge, equipping them with the advanced expertise and strategic vision necessary to excel in IT leadership and make meaningful contributions to critical areas like cybersecurity, cyber forensics, cyber defense and homeland security.”
This partnership continues both institutions’ dedication to expanding graduate education access and strengthening Georgia’s information technology workforce pipeline.
