Monday, July 28th, 2025

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the two-county Warner Robins Metropolitan Statistical Area recorded an unemployment rate of 3.5% in June, up four-tenths from the previous month. A year ago, the rate was 3.7%.

“June's unemployment trends tell a familiar story — Georgia's students are stepping into our workforce as schools let out for summer, creating the temporary unemployment and hiring fluctuations typical for this time of year,” said Georgia Labor Commissioner Bárbara Rivera Holmes. “With Georgia's recent historic announcement of 5 million jobs, these students are stepping into a local workforce that belongs to them, in a state that's proven over and over that when Georgians show up, opportunity follows.”

The labor force in Warner Robins increased by 518 from the previous month and ended June at 89,660. That number declined by 1,003 from June 2024.

Warner Robins finished June with 86,563 employed residents, up 149 from May and down 718 from June 2024.

Warner Robins ended June with 79,700 jobs, an increase of 400 from May and 100 from June 2024.

In June, initial unemployment claims decreased by 33 from the previous month and decreased by 48 from the same month a year ago, totaling 241.
