Mayor-Elect Evans Outlines Vision for Centerville, Prioritizes Safety and Transparency

Newly elected Mayor J. Michael Evans says public safety will be his top priority as he prepares to take office. Evans, who made history as Centerville’s first Black mayor, spoke to WGXA about his plans, including a new amphitheater and expanded lighting throughout the city.
“We’re going to be adding more lighting, so as it gets dark, people can feel safe,” Evans said. “We’re also going to be adding an amphitheater.”
