Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) celebrated on Friday giving back to the community by hosting a range of events, such as a Free Fare Day, a Community Services Fair, and a Macon Celebrity Story Hour for Kids, at what is considered the Crown Jewel of Downtown Macon, Historic Terminal Station.

Free Fare Day included free MTA bus rides all day and kicked off registration for the Teen Summer Bus Pass. The Community Services Fair was to inform residents about various businesses and programs available in the area and Macon Celebrity Story Hour for Kids featured local media celebrities reading children’s books, such as Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! by Mo Willems, read by our very own Tucker Sargent and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen & Helen Oxenbury, read by Yolanda Latimore, Founder of Poetic Peace Arts. Children’s songs were also sung between the readings accompanied by an accordion played by Rabbi Aaron Rubinstein from the Sha’arey Israel Congregation.
