Fairview Park Hospital is proud to announce that employee, Belinda Ricks, RN, and Employee Health Nurse, has been recognized as the winner of the Employee Frist Humanitarian Award for HCA’s South Atlantic Division. Each year, HCA hospitals nominate local colleagues internally to receive this award, resulting in a local winner. Hospitals can then send their nominations to the Division level, where they are reviewed, resulting in the naming of Division winners in three areas: Employee, Volunteer, and Physician. Fairview is part of the South Atlantic Division, which includes 11 hospitals across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Belinda has practiced as a Registered Nurse for 40 years, all of which have been at Fairview Park Hospital. Along with 40 years of dedication to her local healthcare facility and HCA, Belinda has exemplified what being a dedicated friend, colleague, and team member truly means in the way she has served selflessly in so many areas of the hospital. She has served in the Operating Room, PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit), Emergency Room, Med-Surg, Cardiac Cath Lab, Trauma Registry, ICU, and she now serves as Fairview’s Employee Health Nurse. She has always shined, but the past 5 years of Belinda’s career have truly been a testament to her dedication and grit as she showed up to support colleagues and medical staff during COVID-19, navigating the ever-changing tides of healthcare as Fairview’s first line of defense and education as its Employee Health Nurse.

The Frist Humanitarian Award was established in 1971 to honor outstanding individuals for their humanitarian and volunteer activities. The awards are given annually in recognition of the caring spirit and philanthropic work of the late Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr., a founder of HCA Healthcare. The Frist Humanitarian Award recognizes one employee, one physician, and one volunteer from each HCA Healthcare facility.
