Macon Store Owners Optimistic About Demolishing Montpelier Ave Food Mart

A long-vacant Macon convenience store that county leaders once called a “magnet for crime” may soon be torn down.

According to a complaint filed in Bibb County Superior Court, the former M&M Food Mart on Montpelier Avenue is vacant, deteriorating, and poses a public safety risk. The building is currently under review for a demolition order, which, if approved by a judge, would require the property owners to tear it down within 30 days.
