Otis Redding Center For The Arts Opens In Macon, Continuing A Musical Legacy

Nearly two decades after launching a youth music program in memory of soul legend Otis Redding, his family has opened a permanent facility dedicated to music education in downtown Macon.
The Otis Redding Center for the Arts is now open on Cotton Avenue, built on the site where the Nu-Way Weiners restaurant once stood before being destroyed by fire in 2015. The 15,000-square-foot facility includes recording studios, rehearsal spaces, classrooms and a performance amphitheater.
