Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, May 12th, 2025

Catholic private school, Mount de Sales Academy, located in Macon,

Georgia, proudly announces the implementation of a new, state-of-the-art security system

through a partnership with Invision Technologies, LLC, a national leader in school safety

solutions. This transformative step strengthens the Academy’s unwavering commitment to

student safety. It supports one of the Academy’s five strategic goals to Enhance Campus

Spaces, ensuring an environment where every Cavalier is challenged, inspired, and

empowered—mind, body, and soul.

This upgrade follows a series of comprehensive campus safety and security audits and trainings

by Officer Clint Westbrook, a GEMA/Homeland Security representative. These audits resulted in

the installation of controlled key card building access and improved campus-wide monitoring.

Mount de Sales Academy has a longstanding tradition of innovation and leadership in Middle

Georgia. It was the first independent school in the region to install internet on campus, run fiber

between buildings, and provide iPads to students in 2011, setting a precedent for academic and

technological excellence. Today, the Academy continues to be at the forefront of innovation and

safety, implementing this significant security upgrade even before future mandates from the

State of Georgia go into effect.

“This is about reaffirming our mission to provide a safe and empowering environment where

students can grow holistically,

” said Brendan O’Kane, President of Mount de Sales Academy.

“Mount de Sales has always led with vision, and this investment in safety continues that legacy.

”The installation is made possible in part by the generous support of the school community and

the momentum created by the $350,000 challenge grant: Commit to the Cavaliers. As the

campaign gains traction, it will be pivotal in transformative projects like this one that directly

impact the student experience.

“Every gift to the challenge grant is a gift toward fulfilling our strategic plan’s focus of Tradition

Meets Tomorrow,

” said Brendan.

“We are deeply thankful for the donors who believe in our

mission, and we encourage continued support to help us build a brighter future for Mount de

Sales.

As the Academy continues to lead in faith and innovation, this upgrade represents a significant

step toward sustaining a secure and spiritually enriching campus for all. The new security

system will be installed over the summer and will be in full operation for the start of the

2025-2026 academic year.
