Future of Reading: New Library Location to Open in North Macon this Year

The Middle Georgia Regional Library System is expanding with a new location in north Macon. The 5494 Community Library is set to open at 5494 Forsyth Road, bringing additional resources and services to the area.
Library officials say this project has been in development for years. Jennifer Lautzenheiser, the system’s director of libraries, said fundraising efforts and unexpected delays — particularly with furniture shipments — pushed back the timeline. However, she hopes the location will be ready for the public this year.
