Popular breakfast spot Macon Bagels announced on social media that it will be adding a temporary 50-cent surcharge to eggs due to rising costs. This marks the first price adjustment in two years for the locally owned business.

Owner Lauren Bone explained that while the restaurant typically tries to absorb cost increases, the price of eggs has quadrupled in recent weeks, making it difficult to avoid passing some of that expense onto customers.
