Tuesday, February 18th, 2025

Loom, Hotel Forty Five’s signature restaurant in historic downtown Macon, has opened an exciting new chapter in its culinary journey with a refreshed menu crafted by James Beard Nominee Executive Chef, Jayson Reynolds. Along with the new menu, the restaurant has also rebranded as Loom Comfort Kitchen & Cocktails, reinforcing its commitment to elevated Southern cuisine with an approachable, modern twist.

“Our local guests will find a familiar appeal in the new menu, with favorites they grew up with but prepared and presented in ways they’ve likely never experienced before,” said Jayson Reynolds, Executive Chef. “Like the city of Macon itself, we’re building on our Southern roots to create something modern without losing the heart and soul that make it so special.”

Among the standout additions to the menu is the Gulf Grouper, bronzed and served with Tasso Hash and a citrus sauce, along with the indulgent Beer Baked Mac & Cheese, featuring a rich five-cheese blend topped with an herb crumble. Guests will still find returning favorites like Steak Frites, originally a hit at the hotel’s Hightales Rooftop Bar, now refined and featured on the Loom menu.  A perfect meal at Loom Comfort Kitchen & Cocktails begins with Parker Rolls, offering a classic Southern sweetness and fluffy texture, paired with the Wedge Salad, topped with Gorgonzola cheese and crispy bacon. Entrées like the Beef Short Rib, served with creamed corn and collard greens, embrace the essence of Southern comfort, while sides such as Glazed Brussels Sprouts with honey and Sorghum Carrots provide a perfect balance of sweet and savory.

True to its name, Loom Comfort Kitchen & Cocktails continues to weave together a culinary tapestry of seasonal ingredients, partnering with local suppliers to bring fresh honey and other elements to its dishes. Once peach season arrives, locally grown peaches will be infused into desserts, ensuring a taste of Georgia in every bite. A thoughtfully curated cocktail program complements the new menu, blending inventive creations with timeless classics perfect for any occasion, from a casual gathering to an evening celebration.

Guests can also explore a lineup of weekly specials and events to complement its new menu. Weekend Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a special Live at Loom Jazz Brunch featuring live music every third Saturday of the month. Live at Loom on the Patio brings live music to the outdoor dining experience, featuring First Fridays Dinner and Third Saturday Brunch performances. Midweek highlights include Burger & Whiskey Night every Wednesday and Loom Happy Hour, available Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., offering small plates and handcrafted cocktails.

With a renewed focus on elevated comfort cuisine, Loom aims to offer a nostalgic yet innovative take on Southern classics, giving guests and locals alike a fresh perspective on familiar flavors while leaving them eager to return and explore more.
