NewTown Macon encourages the community to support downtown Macon businesses this weekend and will offer customers who make a purchase with a downtown business between Thursday, January 23 and Sunday, January 26 the chance to win a staycation.

Winter Storm Enzo caused many small, locally owned and operated businesses to suspend normal operations for 1 to 2 days to prioritize the safety of their staffs and customers. Now that businesses have reopened and customers can safely visit downtown, businesses are ready and eager for the opportunity to make up lost sales.

“Downtown businesses are the heart and soul of our community, and closures can negatively impact their bottom line,” said Emily Hopkins, Vice President of External Affairs and Main Street Manager. “After staying home for several days, we hope this giveaway encourages people to come downtown this weekend, support our local businesses, and have some fun while doing it.”

The winner of the staycation giveaway will receive a one-night stay at Hotel Forty Five and a $250 gift card to the downtown business of their choice. Each receipt counts as an entry into the contest. Participants can receive an extra entry by tagging their friends on NewTown Macon’s Instagram and Facebook posts about the giveaway. Winners will be announced on NewTown’s social channels on January 27.
