Robins Financial Credit Union shows its commitment to the community through volunteering with Houston County Habitat for Humanity to bring the dream of homeownership to two local families.
Houston County Habitat for Humanity, a trusted non-profit organization, has long been devoted to addressing the need for affordable housing. By engaging community partners, volunteers, and future homeowners, Habitat builds houses and strengthens neighborhoods, offering a pathway to stability for families in need. Their “hand-up, not hand-out" approach ensures that families are active participants in building their own homes, creating a true sense of ownership and accomplishment.
"For over 30 years, Houston County Habitat for Humanity has played a transformative role in the community by providing affordable housing and empowering families to build stronger, more sustainable futures,” shared Charity King, Program Services Coordinator with Houston County Habitat for Humanity. “Beyond just building houses, we strive to bring hope, strengthen neighborhoods, and create a lasting impact by bringing people together across all walks of life to volunteer, donate, and support the mission of building a better community for everyone.”
Built on the foundation of “people helping people,” Robins Financial team members were proud to dedicate their time and energy to making a positive impact in the lives of those in our community.
“Supporting Houston County Habitat for Humanity allows us to give back in a meaningful way and contribute to long-lasting improvements in our community,” said Christina O’Brien, President & CEO of Robins Financial Credit Union. “Building homes for our neighbors goes beyond simply raising walls; it builds hope and a foundation for a brighter future.”
A volunteer from Robins Financial expressed how participating in this event personally impacted him.
"I had a wonderful time volunteering with the Habitat for Humanity build project,” shared Thomas Stembridge, Mortgage Originator at Robins Financial Credit Union. “The houses we helped build were for two deserving individuals and their families, both of whom have served hundreds of hours supporting the community. I would encourage everyone to consider volunteering at one of the build day opportunities.”
Together, Robins Financial Credit Union and Houston County Habitat for Humanity are helping families achieve stability through homeownership and showing what a united community can accomplish.
