Fairview Park Hospital Named Number One Top Medium-Sized Hospital in Georgia by Georgia Trend
Thursday, December 12th, 2024
Fairview Park Hospital was recently named the top medium-sized hospital in Georgia by Georgia Trend. Each year, Georgia Trend evaluates Georgia hospitals that participate in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Value-Based Purchasing program. Hospitals are placed in different categories based on their size and mission and are ranked by performance in four areas based on data reported by the American Hospital Directory and CMS: clinical outcomes, person and community engagement, safety and efficiency, and cost reduction. Fairview is categorized as a Medium-Sized Hospital in the 100-249 patient bed range.
The Georgia Trend ranking release referred to the hospitals recognized as “Trailblazers in Healthcare”, a notable recognition that does not happen by chance. Receiving a ranking alone is impressive, but claiming the number one slot is impactful, not only for Dublin-Laurens County, but for the surrounding communities Fairview Park Hospital serves. This recognition highlights the priorities of our rural community hospital and where its leaders are putting their time and energy in regards to their patients and the care they receive.
“We have made this list several times previously, which we always view as a huge win and accomplishment for our hospital, staff, and community”, commented Don Avery, FACHE, President and CEO of Fairview Park Hospital. “However, when we were notified we had been recognized as the number one medium-sized hospital in Georgia, we were overwhelmed with a sense of pride that is hard to match. It’s not about the recognition. It’s about the why behind it. These accomplishments are affirmations that our efforts are being focused correctly, and it is because of the efforts of our employees and medical staff and our commitment to seeing our patients holistically that we can celebrate these wins. We can truly say with pride that we begin each day in an effort to mobilize our mission statement through the care we provide to our patients, with a focus on safety, quality of care, and compassion. We also strive to position ourselves to be a valuable partner to with whom we work locally through student education opportunities, exposure to careers in healthcare, community health education, and family-focused community events that add value to Dublin-Laurens County. We are proud to say each day ‘Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”
Fairview was one of two HCA hospitals in Georgia to be recognized alongside healthcare organizations such as Emory, Piedmont, and Wellstar.
