Ride Forever 2024 Free Initiative Honors Macon-Bibb County’s Military Veterans

The Macon Transit Authority (MTA) appreciates the contributions of the brave men and women who served our nation. In honor of their service, the MTA launched a new initiative entitled RIDE FOREVER on Veterans Day 2019. This year, Veterans Day is Monday, November 11

RIDE FOREVER enables Macon-Bibb County veterans honorably discharged from military service to ride all MTA fixed route buses FREE of charge FOREVER beginning at age 65.

Program Rules for RIDE FOREVER

1. Must be a resident of Macon-Bibb County. 

2. Must be at least 65 years old. 

3. The RIDE FOREVER transit card is valid for travel on MTA’s fixed route buses only. 

4. To enroll in RIDE FOREVER, veterans must visit the Terminal Station office in Downtown Macon at 200 Cherry Street, first floor, during business hours (Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm), providing one 

   of the following forms of identification to prove their age and military service: veteran’s ID card, driver’s license indicating military service, or a DD214 or DD215 card. MTA issues a transit card 

to the veteran on the spot. 

5. RIDE FOREVER cards are sponsored by AARP of Georgia. If lost, MTA charges $5.00 for a replacement.

To obtain RIDE FOREVER card, visit MTA’s new Terminal Station Office – 200 Cherry Street, First Floor 

1. Enter the Terminal Station on Cherry Street and walk through a set of glass doors on the left. 

2. The Terminal Station office is on the left in front of the staircase.  

3. Ring the security doorbell to be escorted into the office to complete the enrollment process.

This is our way of thanking and honoring them for protecting our democracy and the freedoms we enjoy. MTA is pleased to partner with AARP of Georgia which supplies the cards. We hope that Macon-Bibb County veterans will take advantage of this free program, enjoy riding with MTA, and carry their RIDE FOREVER card proudly.”
