The Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer. The rapidly growing area is home to a strong existing industry base and residential opportunities. With a population of 90,000 and located just 62 miles northeast of Atlanta and 20 miles north of Athens, Georgia, the chamber leads economic development initiatives for the county. Jim Shaw, who currently serves as President and CEO, has announced his retirement at the end of 2024.

The President and Chief Executive Officer is responsible for all aspects of operations for the business organization and reports directly to the Board of Directors through an annually elected Chair. The professional provides vision, strategic direction, and management for the programs and personnel of the organization. The leader demonstrates expertise in collaboration, nonprofit governance and operations, financial management, marketing, public policy and advocacy, and community, economic, and workforce development.
