Houston Healthcare Medical Staff Makes Donation to Houston County Habitat for Humanity

During the November meeting of the Houston Healthcare Medical Executive Committee
the Medical Staff donated $20,000 to the Houston County Habitat for Humanity. In
attendance to accept this donation, William “Bill” Goggin, Executive Director for Houston
County Habitat for Humanity and Tom Tran, Pharmacist at Houston Healthcare, Habitat
Homeowner and Volunteer.
On the behalf of the medical staff of Houston Healthcare, Mohammad Al-Shroof, MD,
Chief of Staff and Houston Healthcare System, Inc. Board Member stated:“ Our collaboration with community organizations is vital. By partnering with these
dedicated groups, our medical staff can better support the health and well-being of our
community. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier future for everyone.”
Houston County Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization
operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes,
communities and hope here in Houston County and around the world. As a tithe partner to
Habitat for Humanity International, we are allowed the opportunity to help build Habitat
homes in several poor countries. To date, Houston County Habitat for Humanity has built
42 homes overseas and tithed over $100,000 dollars from our unrestricted funds towards
helping needy families in less fortunate countries realize the dream of homeownership.
Houston County Habitat for Humanity has built 76 new homes and completed over 500
repairs locally. Habitat homeowners provide 200-300 hours of sweat equity, a $1000 down
payment, and are issued an affordable 0% interest loan that ensures a brighter future for
