MVP Partner Inviting Community to Books & Brunch Saturday

October is National Book Month, and Victory Academy is encouraging families to spend time reading together by holding Books & Brunch on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held at Victory Church (5049 Log Cabin Drive).  Brunch will be catered by Cracker Barrel and includes pancakes, grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, and fried chicken.
 
Following the brunch, children ages 5 to 18 can stay until 2:00 p.m. for educational enrichment activities like math and reading support, voice and piano lessons, music production, aviation lessons with a flight simulator, entrepreneurship, and more.  The day is free and open to the public.

“Victory Academy is committed to exposing youth and families to meaningful ways to learn and grow together,” says Executive Director Arizona Watkins. “Through Books and Brunch, we want to encourage families to cultivate a love for learning by reading books together.
 
Victory Academy is the recipient of a $75,000 grant from the Macon Violence Prevention (MVP) program through the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. Children 5-18 are offered opportunities to develop positive life skills and engage in meaningful activities such as arts exposure, mentorship, and exploration of STEAM career paths. The programming provides academic support, individual music lessons including piano, voice, drum, and guitar, access to a production studio for music recording, an aviation introduction via a flight simulator, robotics, gardening, and more.
