Middle Georgia Heart and Vascular Center, LLC (MGH) is pleased to announce the addition of skilled local cardiologist Dr. Thomas P. Meyer to its practice. A pioneer in cardiology, Dr. Meyer comes to MGH with extensive training in cardiovascular care and more than 51 years of experience serving patients in and around the Middle Georgia area. Dr. Meyer is currently accepting new patients at Middle Georgia Heart.
“Welcoming Dr. Meyer to the Middle Georgia Heart team has elevated our practice and allows us to expand our services further to help more patients in need of exceptional cardiovascular care,” said Dr. Bill Knopf of Middle Georgia Heart. “Dr. Meyer is a renowned cardiologist who has earned the respect of patients and other providers over his five decades of practice, and we’re excited to offer his unparalleled expertise to our patients.”
Dr. Meyer received his MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, KY. After completing his residency and cardiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, in 1978, he moved to Macon, GA, to start his practice, Thomas P. Meyer Cardiology. While in private practice, he brought invasive cardiology to the area, opening the first Cath Lab at the Medical Center of Central Georgia (now Atrium Health Navicent the Medical Center). He was also the first physician in the region to offer coronary angioplasty and stents to qualifying patients. For over five decades, Dr. Meyer has treated a full array of vascular and heart-related conditions and complications, delivering individualized care and solutions to everyone who has walked through his doors.
Now, in his partnership with MGH, Dr. Meyer is thrilled to provide even better care for his current and future patients. MGH has equipped him with an even wider range of resources and programs to enhance the already exceptional service he is known to provide.
Dr. Meyer is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is affiliated with Piedmont Macon Medical Center and Atrium Health Navicent the Medical Center.
