Foster agency Generational Child Care (GCC) is celebrating 10 wonderful years of service to foster families and foster youth in Georgia. Founding Director Tanteneya Harpe says, “Ten years is a really big deal to us, and we are excited to be able to celebrate our success and give back,” which is exactly what the agency is planning to do this holiday season. Generational Child Care, along with its parent company, Generations Adult Day Services, Inc., will host its annual Christmas Gala to honor the holidays and acknowledge 10 years of achievements in serving foster youth in Georgia. 

As part of their celebration, the agency plans to take current foster youth and families to Disney for Christmas and present life scholarships to assist current and former foster youth with early adulthood expenses. Their goal is to give 10 “life scholarships” to 10 youth who lack family support in early adulthood.

The season of celebration offers the opportunity to support the agency with financial gifts through generous donations and sponsorships. Donations will go toward the agency's milestone-year goal of raising $15,000 for the life scholarships and Disney trip expenses. Sponsors will be recognized and invited to attend the Gala. The sponsorship levels start at $500, but donations of any amount are welcome.

Generational Child Care’s History

Sisters Tanteneya Harpe and Phoresha Horne founded Generational Child Care on December 2, 2014, to serve Georgia’s foster youth. Their mother, Kimberly McCoy Hollis, inspired them both to answer the call to open a foster agency after answering her own call in 1998 and founding Generations Adult Day Services, Inc., a home care agency for adult individuals with intellectual disabilities.  

Since 2014, Generational Child Care has provided loving, nurturing, and safe homes to countless foster youth. Driven by the mission to “Join Children to Families with Love,” Generational Child Care extends exceptional care, support, and stability to foster youth and foster families. Generational Child Care strives to make a positive influence in the lives of children, families, staff, and communities being served while remaining true to its core values of care, partnership, trustworthiness, and quality.
