Morris Bank is proud to welcome John F. Hall as its new Chief Banking Officer (CBO).  Hall is a 38-year banking veteran with an extensive background in Georgia banking, serving most recently in the role of President and CEO for American Pride Bank based in Macon, Georgia for almost 15 years.  As a Macon native and resident, he feels deeply connected to the community and is excited to serve Morris Bank's footprint throughout Middle and South Georgia.  In his role as CBO of Morris Bank, Hall will lead the bank’s commercial banking and retail mortgage lending teams, champion sales management and forward the bank’s brand throughout the footprint.

“We are thrilled to welcome John as our new Chief Banking Officer,” said Spence Mullis, Chairman and CEO of Morris Bank. “Our banking team is always striving for excellence, and John’s extensive industry knowledge, strong community connections, and decades of experience will be a tremendous asset to our organization. I’ve personally known John many years and know that he shares a common passion with the Morris team in delivering personal and common-sense banking services to individuals, companies and communities throughout the region.  His extensive banking experience and deep understanding of communities both within and beyond our current footprint will be invaluable as we continue to expand and deliver exceptional service to our current and future customers.”

Hall’s passion for banking started early, inspired by his desire to follow in the footsteps of his father, who was also a banker. After earning a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia, he spent the first 15 years of his banking career in the Atlanta area. During this time, he leveraged his growth-focused mindset and experience in the regional banking sector to make a successful transition into community banking in the early 2000s. Through the years, he has served on the Board of Directors for several financial institutions and banking associations including the Georgia Bankers Association and American Bankers Association. In 2009, Hall and his family returned home to Macon, Georgia, and have been active members of the Middle Georgia community.

Throughout his banking career, Hall has valued community connections and relationships which aligns with Morris Bank’s culture.  His involvement in Greater Macon organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Macon, 21st Century Partnership, Macon Civic Club and Idle Hour Country Club are just a few examples of how committed he is to investing his time and resources back into the community. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, playing tennis, and spending quality time with his wife, Stephanie, their three children, and two grandchildren.
