Atrium Health Navicent and Clayton State University have partnered to offer on-campus health services for students, faculty and staff. The partnership was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 29.
The university’s students, faculty and staff can now receive medical services in Laker Village at 5809 N. Lake Drive, Building 1000 in Morrow. The clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
“This partnership will increase access to quality health care and eliminate barriers to help keep students healthy, able to attend class and prepare for future success,” said Atrium Health Georgia Market President Delvecchio Finley. “Thanks to Clayton State University for partnering with Atrium Health Navicent to offer these services to students, faculty and staff. Because I was raised near Clayton State’s campus and still have family residing in the area, I know first-hand the incredible impact this partnership will offer in providing the surrounding community with hope for a healthier tomorrow.”
Clayton State University’s students, faculty and staff now have access to an in-person primary care provider, or they can choose to use telehealth options. For those who already have a primary care provider, urgent care services are available.
The clinic provides basic services such as wellness exams, physicals, drug screenings, vaccinations and treatment for common illnesses such as the flu, strep throat and COVID-19. Gynecological exams, including pap tests, as well as comprehensive behavioral health services, are also available. For students with chronic health conditions, providers at the clinic will provide ongoing care management, monitoring and on-site laboratory services.
Clayton State University President Dr. Georj Lewis expressed his enthusiasm about the positive influence this partnership will have on enhancing the campus experience for students.
“I am proud of the efforts made by our entire campus community,” Lewis said. “I am excited about our current achievements and look forward to addressing future opportunities.”
On-campus health services provided by Atrium Health Navicent are also offered at Fort Valley State University and Central Georgia Technical College. Atrium Health Navicent is part of Advocate Health, which is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and operates on-campus health care for five other colleges and universities.
