As a part of developing initiatives to support education and training for spouses of military personnel at the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR) Center, Green Veterans is donating technology equipment at a donation announcement event on Wednesday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m., at the Georgia VECTR Center, located at 1001 Armed Forces Blvd in Warner Robins.
Green Veterans, alongside its partner General Motors are making this contribution possible to bolster the work of the Georgia VECTR Center and Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC). The CGTC Foundation is hosting a brief event to signify the importance of community support in the education and training of the armed forces and their families through their many stages of service.
“Supporting education and training for our military spouses is a key area of our mission that through direct contribution from our community, civilian, and military partners is receiving greater emphasis,” said USAF, Ret. Col. Don Layne, chief operating officer of the Georgia VECTR Center. “Green Veterans and General Motors generosity is another important reminder that this community is intentional about its investment in our armed forces and their families.”
The technology equipment will be used in an upcoming collaborative initiative between CGTC’s Office of Economic Development, WorkSource Middle Georgia, the 21st Century Partnership, Robins AFB, and the Georgia VECTR Center to facilitate, streamline, and reduce barriers to education and training opportunities for military spouses.
The CGTC Foundation and its executive director, Tonya McCLure, express their gratitude to Green Veterans and the many community partners who have supported and strengthened the mission of the Georgia VECTR Center in its 8 years of operation.
Leadership from Green Veterans, the Georgia VECTR Center, Robins AFB, The 21st Century Partnership, and CGTC will be on hand at the event to deliver remarks.
