Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) students in the Student Government Association (SGA) took on a creative initiative to open a community garden this spring to help foster community and healthy living.

Earlier in the year, Donald Masinde, the SGA president, decided to set up a work group with members of the student body, teachers, and staff to build a community garden to help transform lives within our community.

The small community garden project is a collaborative effort to focus on “food as medicine”, helping the College’s community embrace healthy eating and living. The garden is housed on the Warner Robins Campus on the backside of the J-Building, "The Titans Community Garden was created to provide students and staff with the opportunity to work together and to build community while also providing them with fresh vegetables", Masinde, SGA President. "These little garden projects can be implemented across our campuses, and we hope to transform lives through it. This is a follow-up from our steps to health campaigns that we started in January."
