Macon Bacon, B&D Industrial, and the faith community in Macon is joining Macon-Bibb County HOME Investment Partnership and Habitat for Humanity to build 3 homes for families in Lynmore Estates. The homes will all be located on Dorothy Avenue and construction starts within the next few weeks. Tuesday May 28th at 10:30 am the build partners will join Habitat staff, and the homeowners for a special ground blessing. The event will be held at 4120 Dorothy Avenue.

“B&D Industrial has been an amazing partner with the Macon Bacon. Together with our players, coaches and staff, we are thrilled to build this home together and make an impact for a very deserving family.” said the President of Macon Bacon, Brandon Raphael.

Members of the community are invited to join the faith community and Macon Area Habitat for Humanity for the Ground Blessing on Tuesday, May 28th 10:30 am at 4120 Dorothy Ave.

Two of the homes are made possible through the support of the Macon-Bibb County HOME Investment Partnership, with additional support from the Macon Bacon and B&D Industrial. There will be opportunities for the community to support the build through the Sponsor A Stud program at all Macon Bacon homes games this season.

The third home will be a Faith Build and there are still opportunities for the faith community to participate in the construction of the home through volunteer work, financial contributions and prayer. Construction is expected to be complete this fall. For more information about supporting the 2024 Faith Build contact Ivey Hall at [email protected] or 478-745-0630.

“We are so grateful for the many ways our community is coming together to help provide more affordable homeownership opportunities to Habitat families,” said Ivey Hall, Macon Area Habitat for Humanity Executive Director. “From property that was cleared in the Blight Fight to funding approved by our Commissioners to volunteers from local businesses and the support of the faith community, we are seeing what is possible when we all work together to increase housing options. These three homes are truly a team effort and we could not be more excited to being construction.”
