The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia Awarded $50K

On May 6th, 2024, Atlanta Gas Light hosted its 9th annual 2024 Charity Golf Tournament at the Golf Club of Georgia, surpassing $250,000 in donations for local Georgia non-profits. Since its inception, the tournament has raised $1.7 million. This year, the focus is on investing in health and the future of youth. The 2024 beneficiaries were The Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Pedro Cherry, President and CEO of Atlanta Gas Light, stated, “The health of our communities depends on the well-being of its people. Our collaboration with non-profits in our service areas reflects our dedication to being a responsible corporate citizen, offering clean, safe, reliable, and affordable natural gas service to customers.”

The donation to The Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia will benefit thousands of children in after-school programs. For over 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia have provided a safe environment for young individuals to learn, grow, and have fun. Phillip Bryant, CEO of The Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia, commented, “Our Clubs are where promising futures begin daily. This contribution will support our nationally recognized programs during crucial out-of-school hours.”

Previous beneficiaries have included The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, LEAD Atlanta, and the Champion’s House.
