Discover greener, healthier, and more affordable ways to commute during Macon Car Free Day on Friday, May 24th. Hosted by Bike Walk Macon, this initiative encourages participants to sign the Macon Car Free Day pledge at www.bikewalkmacon.com/carfreeday and commit to swapping their cars for biking, walking, public transit, or other sustainable transportation options.
 
This year's event is accompanied by exciting initiatives and benefits throughout the day:
  • Ride Free Day with MTA: Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) offers unlimited free bus rides throughout the entire day on May 24th, making active transportation accessible and convenient. No fare required - hop on at any bus stop or at the transfer station at 200 Cherry St.
  • Exclusive Deals: Sign the Car Free Day pledge and unlock discounts on May 24th at local businesses like Bike Tech Macon, Bohemian Den, Ingleside Village Pizza, Macon Bagels, and Sweet Eleanor’s.
  • Car-Free Day Meetups: Connect with like-minded individuals for a casual breakfast at Macon Bagels (470 Third Street) from 7:45 am to 9 am. Ride the bus for free with Bike Walk Macon for a lunch outing to Ingleside Village Pizza. Meet at the Transfer Station (200 Cherry St) at 11 am.
