Middle Georgia State University's Department of Political Science is hosting its inaugural Youth Civic Summit from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th, at the Arts Complex Theater ( Building 12 ) on the Macon Campus. Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. 

This free summit aims to educate high school students about local government and community issues, welcoming all interested students in grades nine through 12. Summit activities will help participants build leadership skills. The summit will include speakers – many of whom graduated from MGA – who work in local government or government-adjacent organizations, so participants will have a chance to network.
