CGTC’s Fly High Event to Introduce High School Students to Aerospace Careers

Wednesday, February 7th, 2024

High school students interested in aerospace careers will join Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and aerospace industry partners for a full day of tours and panel discussions on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

CGTC’s Aerospace Training, and Sustainment Center located 1821 Avondale Mill Road in Macon will host the Fly High with Aerospace Careers event that aims to share information about education, training, and career opportunities in Central Georgia with aerospace, and the benefits to beginning that career trajectory through CGTC’s Dual Enrollment program.

CGTC Dual Enrollment gives students the chance to earn college course credit through many options. Dual enrollment opportunities enhance student engagement, improve graduation rates, and increase student learning.

A cohort of the Aircraft Structural Technology program at the CGTC Aerospace Training and Sustainment Center has classes available to students in dual enrollment.

Bibb, Peach, Houston, Twiggs and Jones County high school students will hear from CGTC, Robins AFB Air Logistics Complex, Embraer, Dean Baldwin, Lockheed Martin, Delta TechOps, and students in the program to understand the industry.

Media are invited to attend and should contact JoBen Rivera-Thompson, at [email protected] or 478-365-1280, prior to the event to confirm attendance.
